Valentine Mission Success!

For Valentine's day I had prepared a Valentine mission for my man! I first handed him out a folder and then he had to follow the clues, complete a task and then he would be able to get a small gift!

There was 5 clues and five task, he had to complete each in 60 seconds!

#1 - Write down 5 things he loves about me! The gift after he completed this task was a "52 reasons why I love you" card pack ( you can see how to make it on this blog).  Much to my surprise, it made him cry!!!! I already felt like this whole mission thing had already succeeded!

#2 - Catch 5 heart shaped marshmallow with your mouth. This was sooo fun and funny, it turned out to be my favorite task! At this station I had left him two pictures of us in frames for his room out West.

#3- Stack up 8 conversation hearts. This was a fun one too! After he succeeded the challenge he got a wallet and a small bottle of cologne.

#4- Answer 5 questions I asked him about myself! I had gotten us some cream and oil for later that night!

#5- His final task was to kiss me, and it sure was an amazing kiss! I had gotten us a bottle of wine and some fruits.

The final clue led to our bedroom, where I had set up a fondue on a food tray on our bed!

I can say I was sooo happy with how this Valentine mission turned out! I can not wait to top this off next year!

52 reasons why I love you...

Valentine's day is just around the corner and I tough what a perfect time to make my lover a cute gift that shows how much I appreciate him even tho he is soo far away! Lucky girl I am he will be home for the holiday, so I can't wait to see his reaction when I give it to him.

Before you start, you need to make a list of 52 reasons why you love your man. Try to come up with the "reasons" on your own, your lover will like it even more.

You will need:
-Deck of cards
-Pack of vanilla cardstock
- Red (glitter) scrapbook page
-Tim Holtz rings
- Scissors
-Double sided tape
-Hole puncher (not in the picture).

 1. I used the "George and Basic Shapes" Cricut cartridge to cut 53, 2" rectangles from the vanilla card stock. However, you do not need a Cricut machine to make this cutie, you can just use scissors and a ruler to make your rectangles. I also cut a 2.5'' rectangle and a heart from the red glitter card stock.

2. I then passed every single one of those rectangles in my printer to print the "reasons" on the card stock. You can also write your "reasons" with a marker, it makes it even more personal.

3. I used double sided tape to stick my rectangles onto the playing cards.

4. Then I used a single hole punch to make two holes on each card. A little trick is to use the extra cards that comes with the pack to align your holes perfectly and then use that card as a pattern  to make the holes on all the other cards by placing it on top of your other playing card

5. Finally, I just slid all the cards in the ring and added a few decorations to it. And it's that simple!

Christmas Time is Coming!

Well so much for keeping this blog up to date! I've been so busy preparing for Christmas and planning activities for when my lover FINALLY gets home that I haven't even had the time to write a single blog post since the first one. I swear I will write a little more as the planning is basically done and I can't wait to share my ideas with you's!

So as the holidays are approching I decided to try something new this year! I decided that most of my christmas shopping would be handmade items by locals, and also by little online shops. This helps support little buisnesses and also assure a quality product! I had so much fun searching for useful and unique handmade gifts!

My first stop was at my towns Christmas Craft show hosted on the weekend of Nov. 21-23rd. I bought homemade chocolate bark (they are delicious!!!), dip mixes, a bag of beer nuts, some decorations for inside our house and I also found a funny little Christmas ornament made out of a Walnut! I also got myself a pair of gorgeous mittens made out of old recycled sweaters and of course I couldn't  help myself to a pair of super comfortable hand knitted woolen socks!

Here's Candy Cane and white Chocolate Bark,  Almond  Bark  and  Milk Chocolate Potato Chip Bark.

Cracked Peppercorn mix and Bacon & Chili mix.

Walnut ornament for my John Deere Fanatic!
I just couldn't help myself to these cuties!

Then I found a series of shops online on the Etsy website (a website where many crafters sell  they’re handmade and they’re one-of-kind items). I found a Scrapbook album from a shop called Album Options for my boyfriend. I'ts a high quality product and to make it even more special they let you personalized the spine label of the album. The front of the Album says: ''Our Adventure Book", which was perfect for what I had in mind. I am going to give him the album as a Christmas gift and also add to it a couple of pictures from our first trip together; a long drive across Canada. I will add pages to the album as our adventure continue.

You might find the cover a little familiar, it was featured in the Disney Pixar Up movie!
Personalized spine label!

My boyfriend loves music. He plays guitar and several other instruments so when I found out that I could get a personalized guitar pick, I absolutely had to get this for his stocking! I chose a simple cooper pick (that he can actually use to play) and got "I pick you" stamped on it!

Personalized guitar pick from Fired Up' Ladies.

I also got this beer soap from The Rocky Top Soap Shop to use a a stocking stuffer!

Unique Soap!
And then for my two best friend I got some cup cozies from a shop called 72 stitches.

Love em'!

Hope you enjoyed this post and that it gives you some last minute ideas! If you have any questions about the makers of these amazing products, do not hesitate to contact me!

Hi readers,

So here it is, my first blog post EVER! I always wanted to start a blog, but never had nothing to write about.. And then my boyfriend moved away on the other side of the country for work. I said to myself this is your chance! I knew many women were living  the same situation that I was in, and i found myself constantly researching and thinking about activities to strengthen our relationship for when he's away and also for when he's home on his days off. So here it is.... A site full of ideas for your long distance relationship.
